Shafali Verma scored her first century in T20 internationals as India beat Bangladesh by 114 runs in the Asian Games semi-final in Nisshin on Sunday.
India won the toss and chose to bat, and Shafali’s hundred powered them to 195 for 4 in their 20 overs. Bangladesh were never in the chase and were bowled out for 81 in 15.4 overs.
A dominant road to the final
India had reached the semi-finals with a thumping win over hosts Japan in the quarter-finals, bowling them out for 57 and knocking off the runs in five overs.
In the other semi-final, Sri Lanka chased down 178 with 13 balls to spare to set up a repeat of the previous Asian Games final.
