The lobbies are the strips running down each side of a kabaddi court. They are not part of the playing area at the start of a raid.
When the lobby comes into play
The lobbies only become part of the court once a struggle begins, meaning physical contact between the raider and one or more defenders. After that, players involved in the struggle can use the lobby area.
Stepping in too early
If a player goes into the lobby before any struggle has started, they are declared out. Defenders sometimes lose a point this way by stepping in while trying to trap a raider, which is why disciplined positioning matters so much.
