A raider crosses the midline into the opposing half and has 30 seconds to touch defenders and get back. Every defender touched is out, and the raider’s team scores a point for each, as long as the raider returns safely. If the defenders tackle the raider first, the defending side scores instead.
Bonus points
When six or more defenders are on the mat, a raider who reaches the bonus line earns an extra point, even without touching anyone.
Do-or-die raids and super tackles
After two empty raids in a row, a team’s third raid becomes do-or-die: the raider must score or is declared out. When the defending side is down to three players or fewer, a successful tackle is a super tackle and is worth two points in the Pro Kabaddi League.
All out
If every player on one side is out, the opponents get two extra points and the whole team is revived. Outside of an all out, each point a team scores brings one of its out players back.
