The tennis season’s Asian swing is under way, with four tournaments running in the same week: ATP 250 events in Chengdu and Hangzhou, and WTA events in Singapore and Seoul.
Chengdu
Valentin Vacherot of Monaco, ranked 19th, is the top seed in Chengdu. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is seeded second on his return from a back injury that has kept him out since July, and Alejandro Tabilo defends the title he won last year after saving two championship points in the final. The tournament runs until 29 September.
Singapore and Seoul
The Singapore Tennis Open has been upgraded to WTA 500 status, making it an important stop for players chasing a place at the season-ending WTA Finals. The Korea Open in Seoul runs alongside it until 27 September.
Bigger events ahead
Once these finish, the men move on to the ATP 500 events in Beijing and Tokyo from 30 September, followed by the Shanghai Masters from 7 to 18 October.
